Animina is a sound walk for The Race Street Pier in Philadelphia, available as an iPhone application. Meaning “little soul,” Animina takes the listener from the corner of 2nd and Race Streets to the end of the Race Street Pier and back again. Like it’s title, the walk is a palindrome, functioning in reverse on the walk back from the edge of the water. The composition will change according to your location along the journey.

Animina was written by Michael Kiley and performed by Michael, Eliza Hardy Jones, David Hartley and Chris Ward. Produced and mixed by Brian McTear, engineered by Brian McTear and Matt Schimelfenig at Miner Street Recordings in Philadelphia, PA.

This project is supported by a professional development grant from Pew Cultural Center of Arts & Heritage and is a sponsored project of Painted Bride Art Center, with funding provided by the Wyncote Foundation. Animina is presented in partnership with FringeArts and the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation.
